Description

The kero form is of great antiquity in the Andes, and is widely distributed. There are keros from very early times, and there are them in the north, center and south. The kero will be for centuries and centuries modeled in clay, embedded in metal, and carved in wood by the artists of the various cultures that developed in ancient Peru. The keros were the glasses to drink chicha, the ceremonial drink of the Andes, the result of the boiled and fermented juice of corn. Even today it is possible to find in some Andean towns and cities, places where you can drink chicha de jora in keros glasses made of glass, since form and function are still linked. (UH)
